Valley College’s Martinsburg campus participated in United Way’s 19th Annual Day of Caring event. The purpose of Day of Caring is to promote the spirit and value of volunteerism and to demonstrate what people working together for the community’s good can accomplish. Over 1,000 volunteers throughout the Eastern Panhandle participated in the event by painting, cleaning, and landscaping for community businesses and organizations in more than 75 projects.
Our Valley College project this year was performing beautification services, such as weeding, mulching, general landscaping, and painting for the City of Martinsburg on South Queen Street. Not only did this event allow us to give back to our community, but it proved to be an excellent team building exercise as well. We look forward to participating in this event for years to come.
